tasmania pure P tasmania the federal group’s pure tasmania brand is capturing the imagination of event planners. ure Tasmania brings together product operated by the Federal Group including The Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart, Strahan Village on Tasmania’s west coast, Freycinet Lodge and Cradle Mountain Chateau. But more than that, under the Pure Tasmania umbrella, it provides a wealth of options for making a meeting or incentive a memorable one. As the marketing collateral says: “we have all of the ingredients to bring your conference or incentive to life by combining signature experiences with iconic locations, memorable theme parties and dining options that reflect the culture and the history [of Tasmania] in an extraordinary way. We can deliver experiences that excite, liberate, reward and rejuvenate your spirit. The end result is a once- in-a-lifetime experience that is truly remarkable and memorable.” Product on offer is different and appealing, particularly to those who may have been there and done that. The Henry Jones Art Hotel, for example, is Australia’s only dedicated “art hotel”. It blends contemporary design elements with traditional building structures and artworks. It is located on the Hobart waterfront and was transformed from a row of historic warehouses and a former IXL jam factory. It offers 56 accommodation rooms, and can cater for up to 300 guests in the IXL Atrium. Features in accommodation rooms include natural timber furnishings, writing desk, trapeze lighting, and a lavish king-size bed with exotic silk covers and ottomans. The Pure Tasmania brand continues to the west coast of Tasmania where Strahan and Strahan Village is located. With a setting right on the waterfront, Strahan Village’s four to 4.5-star individual cottages and terraces take guests back to a time when the “wild west” was inhabited by miners, piners, fishermen and their families. The village has 141 accommodation rooms in a variety of types. In terms of meetings, the Henty Room can accommodate up to 80 delegates. Smaller groups can take advantage of comfortable breakout rooms, and the nearby View 42° Restaurant and Bar, with its cosy lounge and balcony seating. Another option is Freycinet Lodge, located on a 14-acre site just inside the National Park at Coles Bay on Tasmania’s east coast. Freycinet Lodge’s waterfront location is popular for conference and incentive groups for up to 110 delegates. In-between meetings, guests can enjoy exquisite cuisine made with local produce at one of two restaurants, or fill their days touring the local area, including Freycinet National Park. Cradle Mountain Chateau, adjacent to the Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park, is another venue part of the Pure Tasmania brand. It offers meetings facilities up to 120 delegates, and 60 well- appointed rooms and suites. ABOVE: Henry Jones Art Hotel. Photo courtesy of Tourism Tasmania and Chris Wilson.
