the dreamtime tour avanti eventS prideS itSelf on delivering creative experiences with a focus on high-quality personal service for performance-driven companies. and their recent dreamtime tour of the top end certainly fit the bill for one organisation. vanti Events created a four-day, high-end incentive travel experience for their client, taking in Darwin, Peppers Seven Spirit Bay, Dugong Beach Resort and ET Escape Sportsfishing on Groote Eylandt, and Bullo River Station, novelist and Australian icon Sarah Henderson’s family property. The purpose of the trip was for Avanti Events’ client to rewards its national suppliers for their contribution to the success of their business and to build on the established relationships between the parties. “The Dreamtime Tour has developed into a highly rewarding unique experience to recognise the high level suppliers,” explains Avanti Events’ David Addison. “The event is a high-profile adventure with fishing as a main component.” A welcome letter sent to participants said in part: “The time is here to dust off your copy of the Best of Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures (volume 3) and get ready for Dreamtime 2008… “Of course if your passion isn’t fishing then there are other activities which await you, or just a time to relax and network with industry colleagues. Avanti Events will be there to look after your individual needs in Darwin with David on site on Groote Eylandt and Natalie on the Cobourg Peninsula. Guests travelling to Bullo River Station will be hosted by David… “For the fishing enthusiasts the Territory’s waters are boiling with bluewater fish, reef fish, billfish and mud crabs, but the common theme is undoubtedly ‘big’… “We look forward to welcoming you to the Territory and a great weekend adventure in the Top End.” On arrival in Darwin participants boarded their pre-arranged charter aircraft for flights to their respective venues (as mentioned above). At Seven Spirit Bay participants enjoyed fishing, guided walks, spa treatments, 4WD tours, and sumptuous lunches and dinners. At Dugong Beach Resort participants were given options including fishing, walks, golf, and relaxation while fishing, exploration and relaxation were the order of the day at Bullo River Station. They returned to Darwin on the final night, staying at the Darwin Airport Resort. For dinner on the final evening the group were transported by Ulysees motorcycle escort, first to pre-dinner sunset drinks and canapés at East Point before moving onto Pee Wees Restaurant in Darwin. On the following day all participants attended the official opening of a new company facility before being transported to the airport for their return flights home. Mr Addison acknowledged the Northern Territory Convention Bureau staff had “been fantastic in their assistance of our group” as had Jill Morris from The Best Conference and Events for Darwin logistics. Contact www.avantievents.com.au for further details. A The group experience was all about relaxation and fun, including golf at the Alyangula Golf Club, a lesson in bush tucker on Groote Eylandt, and of course fishing with ET Escape. mice.net supplement 2009 21
