sydney & surrounds rooftop soiree for bachelor search Acp mAgAzines took to the rooftop of the swiss grand Resort & spa in search of the cleo Bachelor of the Year. rooftop, with the space filled with striped and patterned sofas (from Valiant Hire) mixed with eclectic-coloured Kartell acrylic stools and hundreds of flickering lights in coloured vessels. Large Cleo signage was placed alongside the pool, which was visible from the street below and the beach. The event’s main sponsor, Clinique, utilised Clinique dancers who performed around the pool, creating another event space unique to the rooftop at the property. This year’s Cleo Bachelor of the Year soiree was the first time a cocktailstyle format was used instead of the standard sit-down dinner. The venue worked well because it allowed interstate entrants to stay at the hotel, assisting in reducing costs and logistical challenges. T he rooftop cocktail event at the Bondi Beach property was attended by more than 300 guests. Two Bedouin tents were erected to cover almost the entire Senior event manager at ACP magazines, Samantha Bramson, said the rooftop of the Swiss Grand established itself as a unique destination for the event. “The Swiss Grand Hotel was a fantastic venue for Cleo Bachelor of the Year,” Ms Bramson said. “The staff were always friendly, helpful and efficient, the food was great and the service was perfection. I could not have asked for a better outcome for one of ACP magazines’ largest events on the social calendar.” Creative director Alex Zabotto-Bently said “People could see the Bedouin tents and the two metre high CLEO letters from the beach.
