Mice Net : August 2009
conference package deals package deal so do our meeting packages. We are fortunate here as we have new dining venues, regularly changing menus, new furniture and spaces opening up on a fairly regular basis so we can adapt, change and alter our meeting packages to reflect our latest products, menus and experiences. For us, it’s a combination of adding in what’s new here at Crown and listening to what our clients’ need are. Fortunately, we are in a position to make speedy changes, customise packages and offer a host of price points and varied pricing to ensure our clients’ budget expectations are met. kiNGS H How do you know when you've hit the mark? One indication is when clients re-book the day after their event finishes or when delegates or others who attended the event call us as soon as the event has finished to book their next event. That sort of phone call makes my day! Not oNly doEs a venue have to deliver on its promise, it has to make sure that promise is highly appealing, as Crown’s Jayson Heron explains. ow do you come up with new meeting packages? We come up with new meeting packages to meet the everchanging needs of our clients. As our clients’ needs change, Do you ever ask your clients what they want? Absolutely. I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t, and to be honest, it makes my job easier by knowing exactly what my client is looking for in a venue. Sometimes it takes dozens of questions to get a good picture of what the client is after, but any investment in research and finding out clients’ needs, pays off dividends in the end. We monitor our relationship with clients at every step of the way: from feedback forms to client workshops and seeking feedback from the initial meeting through to the post-event debrief. Are clients demanding more from you? Clients are astute and appreciate excellent service as well as value for money. They also appreciate venues being flexible and being able to customise their proposals and agreements. In particular, clients are requesting to have tailored cancellation and attrition policies to meet their specific requirements. We understand that in the current climate it is vital to take a long-term view of the business.
