cai rns & gr eat bar r i e r r e e f C port douglas paradise NAME: Port Douglas Paradise TYPE: Conference program CLIENT: Top secret! NO. ON ORGANISING TEAM: 4 PAX: 120 BUdGET: WHAT YOU dId: The program commenced with plenty of local flavour infused into the on-site welcome function with a large range of entertainment including fire performances, fortune tellers, air-brush and henna tattooists, and a balloon artist and clown for the kids! The gala dinner was a true highlight of the program entitled ‘Night with the Stars’ which was in a custom-designed marquee. As the evening continued the entertainment ensued with appearances from 100% Kylie, and a myriad of Hollywood characters. The final event in the program was hosted at a local surf club where the majority of guests arrived on foot from the gorgeous golden beach adjacent. The bistro had been transformed into an old rustic seaside shanty consisting of sumptuous seafood overlooking the picturesque Four Mile Beach. SPECIAL TOUCHES: During the program guests were also provided a truly special outback experience at a working cattle station just outside of Port Douglas which was established in the region in 1868. On arrival guests were guided to the mustering ring for an overview and demonstration on cattle mustering on horseback, providing guests with a visual and educational insight into life on the land in North Queensland. Afternoon activities involved an afternoon of charity bike building with the completed bikes provided as gifts to under-privileged children within the local community.
