Mice Net : October 2009
4 mice.net WELCOME DREAMTIME 2009 Tourism Australia is delighted to be once again hosting Dreamtime 2009 -- The Story of Australian Incentives, in partnership with Qantas and Business Events Sydney. Dreamtime is Tourism Australia's premier showcase for the global incentive market, and in partnership with industry it provides a unique opportunity to highlight through first-hand experience Australia's outstanding incentives. Not only does the event enable buyers to enjoy Australian incentive experiences but just as importantly it provides a forum to discuss business with a range of Australian high-end incentive product and service suppliers. For Dreamtime 2009, Tourism Australia has recruited more than 80 qualified incentive buyers from 15 countries within the key business events markets of North and South Asia, Europe, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America to participate in the event. Last held on the Gold Coast in 2006, Dreamtime has been refashioned for 2009 to highlight Australia's capabilities as a world-class sustainable destination for corporate meetings and incentives and to reposition Australia's business events offering in the international marketplace. This year's program includes a new Leader's Forum and the addition of a two-day educational visit to one of five destinations including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane/Sunshine Coast and the Red Centre. The educational visits will focus on the best incentive product in each of these locations whilst facilitating connections between buyers and sellers to generate tangible business leads. Another area of focus will be Australia's capacity to deliver sustainable business events through the delivery of a greener Dreamtime, with initiatives to 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' being adopted across the event program. A sustainability audit will be undertaken during Dreamtime to provide a benchmark for the future greening of Tourism Australia events. Australia is pioneering sustainable business events and leading by example, which is a crucial point of differentiation for Australia in a highly competitive marketplace. Despite global economic conditions, Australia continues to invest in the business events market with an injection of $8.1 billion in new infrastructure. Dreamtime provides an excellent platform for promoting these new developments along with Australia's capabilities for successfully hosting corporate incentive programs. In the tough economic climate, Australia can deliver real business results whilst offering exceptional value for money. On behalf of Tourism Australia, welcome to Dreamtime 2009 -- The Story of Australian Incentives. We look forward to sharing our story.
